What we’re looking for in a space.

We haven’t signed a lease. That’s the honest status, and it’s why the one photograph on this site is captioned as a feeling rather than as our room. What I can give you instead is the list I carry into every viewing, which is more useful than a description of somewhere we don’t have.

Room for 50 to 125 people to sit and eat without the place feeling thin at fifty. Somewhere a caterer can warm and plate — that one is on the requirements list for every space we look at. Step-free access and accessible washrooms, which are non-negotiable in anything we sign. Daylight, because a celebration that starts at ten in the morning shouldn’t feel like it starts at ten at night. A landlord who is genuinely relaxed about a different caterer every weekend and music running to eleven. And Brampton itself — not near Brampton.

When we sign, you’ll read it here first, and the founding families will see the place before anyone is allowed to call it finished.

Posted August 2026. The shorter version of all of this goes to @thelaurelroom.

The list closes at thirty dates.

A founding family’s price can’t go above the top of today’s published range for their day. A Saturday Styled Experience can’t cost a founding family more than $3,800 plus HST, and if it comes in lower, you pay lower. First pick of the calendar comes with it, Saturdays included, and an invitation to stand in the space before anyone is allowed to call it finished. Free to join, and you’ll hear about the lease before this page does.

If you joined the list when we were advertising 10% off, that still stands — we’re not moving the goalposts on anyone who signed up early.
